Et Tú, America?

Election season is upon us.

american-flag.jpg

Yet to call the 2008 U.S. election “seasonal” diminishing the power and scope of this moment in time. It is a call to the collective consciousness. It is a pull of mercurial political narrative and ideological schism. Through it the refrain remains simple and undeniable : Our future as a nation depends solely

WE INTERRUPT THAT STORY ABOUT AMERICA TO BRING YOU THIS

Hey, America, have you heard of the band Tú?

I know! Me, neither!!!!! What the HELL, America?????

Here’s the skinny on Tú: (according to Wikipedia @TM)

Tú was a Canadian pop music duo from the Toronto area in the late-1980s, featuring twin sisters Amanda DiBlasi and Cassandra DiBlasi… Their biggest hit by far was the single “Stay with Me”….Tu also appeared as back-up singers in Platinum Blonde’s video “Fire”.

You know what the problem is with the U.S.? We’re not aware of the world around us. But mostly Canada. It it makes me ashamed. I mean LOOK AT THEM. With their lion hair and their BOXING GLOVES. So let’s DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS, AMERICA.

Enjoy their video and feel good about your newfound world awareness!

And let’s all give thanks to Vlady, a brave and dedicated Canadian who brought Tú to my attention. Hats off to Vlady, for bringing our countries together! With .
Or should I say Túgeth….no.

Romance .biz

Well, stupid Valentine’s Day is this week and…uh….actually, I don’t mind that I’m single on Valentine’s Day. As I’ve mentioned in a previous post , my dating attitude is wan and pale like a dying bird. It’s not good!

But that’s no reason for you not to have a fantastic Valentine’s Day. Because romance is everywhere! How can you not celebrate romance?

Horrible, Horrible Romance!

Are you reading these scrolling titles? Don’t look away!

Speaking of love, I love my new short haircut. I enjoyed my longer hair, but I missed it short. It’s easier for me to style and I get to spike it up.

I love it! It’s fancy!

So I’m sending a Thank You Valentine to my hairstylist Calista, who is an amazing person and hairstyle genius. This song’s for you Calista! Um..hope that’s OK…

*Note, Calista did NOT cut this 1984 woman’s hair.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I HEART ALL OF YOU.

More “Poetry”.

Poem to Strangers Who Talk To Me in Public

gaultnaturereserve.jpg

God SHUT UP.
Nobody cares what you have to say
To that wall television.
But you have to make a comment.
Because the TV is making a comment.
I don’t CARE that you are voting for him.
Nobody CARES!
He doesn’t even have any DELEGATES.
What is WRONG with you?
I’m going to gnaw my HAND off.
OK, I’m walking away now.
Walking away.
Away
from
your
voice

Hi, everybody. Speaking of voices, I lost mine for a bit today because of my stupid cold. But I can speak loudly with the voice of Poetry.

Here’s some more “poetry” for ya.

Synopsis of the Movie, Psycho II
(as per requested by Mikel)

I’m Crazy.
No I’m not Crazy.
I’ve served my time and now I’m home.
So I’m not Crazy.
Wait, maybe I am Crazy….
No, I’m not.
(YES YOU ARE)
Wait- someone’s Trying to Drive Me Crazy!
So Now I’m Crazy Again.
Oh Wait I was NEVER NOT CRAZY!
That’s what I was trying to tell Me!
I’m Crazy!
See ya next time when I’m Crazy, again!

That was fun.

Now a Synopsis of Return to Oz.

(Click on photo to see more photo!)

I’m Dorothy. It’s the year 1985-I mean
1903.
NOT 1985.
I’m depressed and in Kansas.
But now I’m in a a film set
That cost 20 million dollars
But it’s still Claymation.
And a man with a Pumpkin head is calling me “Mother”.
A robot version of Wilfred Brimley is here
And we’re on a flying sofa with a moldy talking moosehead attached.
And there’s a witch chasing me who looks like Gene Wilder
Wearing a gown made of metal feathers.
And yet, NOTHING IS HAPPENING.
Please see “The Craft” instead.

I’ll try to write more poems when I’m at Jury Duty this week!

Bye!
